England and Afghanistan lock horns in match 24 of ICC World T20 2016 at Delhi on Wednesday. While England have so far won a match and lost one, Afghanistan are yet to taste victory losing both their ICC World T20 2016 fixtures back to back despite their commendable performance. While England will look to earn points for qualification to the next round, for Afghanistan, it will be a match which will bring them some respect if they win it. The team has many world-class players and did well but could not manage to pull off a single victory off the matches. Before the match, here are some key battles that can be expected for the match. Live Cricket Scorecard: England vs Afghanistan, ICC T20 World Cup 2016 Match 24, Super 10 Group 1 at Delhi

1. Mohammad Shahzad and David Willey: It is the hard-hitter from Afghanistan up against the English pacer. Willey is expected to open the bowling for his side and Shahzad is the most dependent opener of his side. Shahzad tends to start the hitting from the very first over itself and score big while Willey will surely look to bag the wicket of this batsman.

2. Alex Hales and Asghar Stanikzai: Both the top-order batsmen of the respective teams are one of the main strengths behind their batting. While Hales is in a good form and has been scoring runs Stanikzai, the Afghan skipper, is not far behind with his sensible knocks. It will be interesting to see who proves to be more useful for the team.

4. Jason Roy and Amir Hamza: Afghanistan have a tendency to open bowling with spinners looking at the quality they have and Hamza has been a convenient option for them for the last few matches. If the bowler can get the England batsman early on, it can prove to be a game-changer. Roy, on the other hand, has put up an average performance so far and needs to give their best in this crucial game.

5. Joe Root and Rashid Khan: A battle between England’s most impressive batsmen with the young and talented spinner from Afghanistan. Rashid Khan, at the age of 17, has become one of Afghanistan’s leading bowlers with his terrific performance while Root has improvised his batting to gradually become one of the most accomplished batsmen of current time. Who will win the battle during the match?
