England vs Sri Lanka 2014: Joe Root says series key for ICC World Cup 2015
Root: Sri Lanka series key for World Cup

England batsman Joe Root believes that the current One-Day International series against Sri Lanka will help them prepare them for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2015 to be held in Australia and New Zealand.
Express UK reported that Joe Root still believes that England are playing to win the series, despite trailing 3-1 in the series. Root said, ” “We want to win this series and there is no reason why we can’t, but now is the time for us to step up and start putting in performances and this is a great opportunity for us to do that under pressure before the World Cup.”
Joe Root wanted England to raise their game in the last three matches of the series, with two matches to be played in Pallekele and the final One-Day International (ODI) to be played in Colombo.
Sachitra Senanayake is also available for selection for Sri Lanka after his action was cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) 24 hours earlier.
