Sri Lanka will continue to bat from where they left on Day 3 of the Third Test against England at Lord’s. At Stumps on Day 2, Sri Lanka were comfortably placed at 162-1 with Kusal Mendis and Kaushal Silva at the crease. The live telecast of the match can be seen on Star Sports and Star Sports HD. England will have to chip in with quick wickets if they have to come back in the game. Dimuth Karunaratne was the only man out for Sri Lanka on Day 2 that too after he scored a half-century. He was picked up by Steve Finn. Earlier England posted a first innings total of 416 runs after Jonny Bairtsow made yet another hundred for his side to rescue his team. England had won the toss and decided to bat first at the Home of Cricket – Lord’s. After a good stand of 56 runs for the first wicket, England lost their way in between as Sri Lanka fought back with 4 quick wickets. Capatain Alastair Cook looked set for a hundred but was out for 85. Bairstow and Chris Woakes then put on a big partnership to take England past 350. Woakes scored a well made 66 before he was out. Rangana Herath was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka. he picked up 4 wickets for just 81 runs.

England’s bowlers were not allowed to settle in when they came onto bowl. Karunaratne and Silva put on a 108-run partnership before England striked. Day 3 will be a deciding one although it looks unlikely that either side will be able to take 20 wickets.
