England will look to consolidate after bowling out Sri Lanka cheaply on the first day’s play of the second Test played at Headingley. It was definitely Stuart Broad‘s day, as he took a hat-trick for the second time in his career. Kumar Sangakkara was given a few chances and he made most of it by amassing a fifty, but it wasn’t enough to take Sri Lanka out of spot of bother. For England, Sam Robson and Alastair Cook then were able to negotiate the rest of the overs and put England in a strong position. Earlier, England won the toss and elected to bowl in bowler friendly conditions and all their bowlers bowled well. Now, Sri Lankan bowlers including their spinner, Rangana Herath need to take wickets on the second day to stall the progress of England.
