England Women to tour West Indies for ODI series in October

After the conclusion of ICC Women’s World Cup 2016, England women are set to travel to West Indies for five-match One-Day International (ODI) series in October. All the matches are slated to be played at Jamaica with first two matches to be held at Trelawnt Stadium and Montego Bay while the remaining matches will be held Sabina Park, Kingston. At the moment England are No.6 in championship rankings and the last three matches that are to be played at Kingston will also be round of fixtures in England’s ICC Women championship campaign. England Women head coach Mark Robinson spoke to about this tour against West Indies Women, who were recently crowned the World T20 champions. Robinson said, “We all saw during the ICC Women’s World T20 what talented side they are, and they will be especially dangerous in home conditions. England will also be playing against Pakistan Women for three games in June, which will also be part of championship process. The three matches that are to be played against Pakistan will be held at Leicester, Worcester and Taunton. The tour game will begin from June 20 and end on July 7. Out of the 12 championship matches played till date, England have won six and lost five, while one was draw.

England Women entered the semi-final against Australia Women, with the latter triumphing once again to enter their fifth ICC Women World Cup final. The ultimately lost to the Caribbean Women, providing them their first World T20 title.
