Eoin Morgan will assume responsibilities of captaining England in the fourth One-Day international against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Morgan will lead England in the absence of Alastair Cook who is set to serve a one match ban due to England’s slow over-rate in the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Hambantota. In addition to the ban Cook was fined 20 percent of his match fee, while the rest of the team were fined 10 percent of theirs.

Cook was fined for the same offence earlier in the year in an ODI against India, by virtue of committing the offence twice in the same year he faces a suspension this time around. Morgan has led England in seven ODIs and the same number of T20 Internationals in the past. He has also been woefully out of form with not even a single half century in his last five ODIs.
