Evin Lewis played a powerful and a gem of an innings of 91 in 3rd T20I vs Pakistan AFP

West Indies opener Evin Lewis played a powerful and a gem of an innings, as it was his stellar and match-winning innings of 91, which allowed the hosts to register a convincing 8-wicket win over the visitors Pakistan, in the third of the four-match Twenty20 International (T20I) at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad on Saturday. Lewis played most of the innings, although he was supported steadily by veteran Marlon Samuels and debutant Jason Mohammed at the other end. As for Pakistan, three of their bowlers managed to claim a wicket each, as it was not enough for Pakistan to seal the series. However, they still lead the series 2-1, and have a chance in the fourth T20I on Sunday. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Pakistan vs West Indies 2017, 3rd T20I at Port of Spain

Earlier, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed won the coin toss and elected to bat first, as Pakistan posted an average total of 137 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs, with Kamran Kaml and Babar Azam scoring 48 and 43, respectively, while Samuel Badree claimed a couple of wickets. As for West Indies, they too started the innings on a shaky note, losing opener Chadwick Walton for a mere single to Sohailm Tanvir in the second over of the innings, with just a couple of runs on the board.

However, it was followed by a stable 56-run stand for the second wicket between Lewis and Samuels. Both the batsmen batted decently, with Lewis going after the Pakistan bowlers, while Samuels was just supporting him at the other end. Nevertheless, it was in the eighth over, when Samuels departed for mere 18 to Wahab Riaz, as the score read 58 for 2. FULL CRICKET UPDATES: Pakistan vs West Indies 2017, 3rd T20I at Port of Spain

However, it hardly stopped Lewis from playing his natural game, as he was completely set, and West Indies were well ahead with their required run rate. Debutant Jason Mohammed joined him, and just supported him, as Lewis continued his domination over the Pakistan bowlers, while he also brought up his maiden T20I half-century. He became more aggressive, as he smashed quite a few sixes around the park, before falling for 91 to Shadab Khan in the 15th over, as the score read 134 for 3.

Nonetheless, it was too late for the Pakistan bowlers, as the damage had already been done by Lewis, and incoming batsman Lendl Simmons smashed the winning four runs, and allowed West Indies to stay alive in the series, with a convincing seven-wicket win. However, Pakistan still lead the series 2-1, and could seal the series with a win on Sunday, as West Indies would be aiming to win that tie and square the series.
