Fan reveals his conversation with Kohli during IPL 2025 opener
A young fan had breached security and entered the ground of Eden Gardens in Kolkata to meet with his idol Virat Kohli at the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The boy has now been identified, his name is Rituparno Pakhira. As he got identified, he also shared how his encounter went with the batting great.
As the young guy touched Kohli’s feet, the star batter pulled him up as the security guards took him away. Now after his detention, he has opened up about the small interaction he had with Virat, stating that the star batter advised him to run quickly while ordering the guards to not hit him.
“The moment I touched his feet, Virat Kohli sir, asked my name and said, ‘Jaldi se bhaag jaa (run away fast). He even asked the security to not hit me,” the 18-year-old was quoted as saying by Times of India.
In that match, Kohli was in good form as he scored 59* for RCB. Even the top spinner of the opposing team, Varun Chakravarthy got some hammering by the star batter. RCB easily chased down their target of 175 in that match, winning the clash by 7 wickets.
