Half-centurial knocks by Saif Hassan was a driving factor that led Bangladesh to a 6-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the first match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025.
Coming to bat first, Sri Lanka posted a total of 168 runs on the board, driven by a fifty by Dasun Shanaka- along with decent contributions from Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka. It is worth noting that SL lost 7 wickets in their quota of 20 overs.
Bangladesh played in a well-composed manner, steered by half-centuries by Saif Hassan and Towhid Hridoy- along with decent contribution from Litton Das. The Lions faced a bit of hiccup in the final over, losing 2 players in 2 deliveries, but eventually completed their target in 19.5 overs- securing a 4 wicket win.
