Gary Kirsten to be sacked as Delhi Daredevil’s coach: Reports
Delhi Daredevils might appoint Zaheer Khan as their player-cum-coach.

Gary Kirsten is set to lose his job as Delhi Daredevil’s head coach as the franchise is looking to revamp the team prior to the ninth edition of Indian Premier League in April. While the IPL Governing Council prepares to announce the two new franchises that would be participating in the league, Delhi are looking for a new face to manage the side and they might as well find that in recently retired Zaheer Khan as coach-cum-player. Zaheer, who earlier played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians and had joined Delhi Daredevils just last season, will be more or less will be playing his last-ever season in competitive cricket. According to The Hindu, GMR Sports, owner of Delhi Daredevils, may also be looking for a new bowling coach. Alfonso Thomas had replaced Eric Simons but Delhi is expected to overhaul the support staff following the team’s poor showing. Kirsten who led India to the famous victory in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup was called to improve the miserable state of Delhi. However the South Africa has failed to help in there. Since his inclusion in the management, Delhi finished last in the 2014 IPL and seventh out of eight teams in the 2015 edition. Daredevils had roped in West Indian great Viv Richards as batting consultant in 2013 but there was hardly any change in the status of the team.
