Australian skipper, George Bailey is having a great run in the One-Day International series against India. He has already aggregated more runs than any other Austrian skipper in a bilateral One-Day series. On Wedensaday, he went one step further by scoring more runs than anyone else in a bilateral One-Day series.

Bailey talks about being inspired by former Australian batsman Michael Beven, he added, “It was great to play with Bevan and it hugely influenced my cricket. The main thing I learned from him was that he always had a plan about how the game was going to unfold. I don’t think I ever saw him panic or throw away his wicket.” Bailey quoted as saying by Times of India.

In a typical modest tone though, Bailey disagreed about being compared with his hero, “I’m not as calm as Michael Bevan used to be in the middle. Unfortunately, I’m still inclined to playing rash shots,” he stated.

Bailey’s innings of 156 in the 6th One-Day match played against India was no doubt a great knock.
He took Australia from a spot of bother to a position of real strength.
