Former Australian batsman Geoff Marsh is likely to take over the Sri Lanka coaching job after the end of the ongoing Sri Lanka series.
Sri Lanka daily The Sunday Times reported that Rumesh Ratnayake, who is serving as the present interim coach, will end his tenure soon, and Marsh is the likely replacement.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) had earlier approved former South African cricketer Graham Ford for the job but a six-month resignation notice-period with his present employer delayed the possible appointment.
The newspaper reported that former Sri Lanka coach Tom Moody and former England coach Peter Moores were approached by the SLC authorities, but they denied.
