West Indies batting legend Gordon Greenidge partnered with Trinidadian Carlos Baynes to win the inaugural Celebrating Life World Aids Day Golf tournament in Trinidad.
Playing at the Millennium Lakes Golf & Country Club in Trincity, Greenidge and Baynes shot a round of 13-under 58 to win by two shots last weekend.
Robbie Narine and Neemeedas Chandool were second while Kenneth Edwards and Kendall Lowhar also shot 60 but finished third.
The tournament was held to raise funds for Celebrating Life, a group dedicated to AIDS awareness and spreading the message of the epidemic’s effects on Caribbean society. Winston Mansigh, the chairman of Celebrating Life addressed the crowd at the prize giving ceremony and highlighted statistics that reflected the threat of AIDS.
