Walking out at 39 for 3 against Australia in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 final at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Grant Elliott scored a resilient fifty, resurrecting the innings to some extent in a partnership with Ross Taylor. In the process Elliott became the fifth batsman (after Mike Brearley, David Boon, Javed Miandad, and Aravinda de Silva) to register fifties in the semi-final and final of the same edition of World Cup cricket.
