Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag turned 38 on Thursday, and for obvious reasons, social media was flooded with birthday wishes for the dashing batsman who is dearly missed on the cricket field. Interestingly, Sehwag, who wishes other people on their birthdays in unique styles, had many cricketers as well as fans trying their best to amuse the maverick cricketer known for his flamboyant style on and off the field. Sehwag, who is working as a commentator, has been particularly entertaining on air. Sehwag retired from international cricket last year, having played 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is for India having made his debut in 1999.

Sehwag holds the record of all three top individual scores for India in Test cricket, while his only double century in ODIs 219 versus West Indies in 2012 is the second highest score for the two-time World Cup winners. Sehwag s scores of 319 (against South Africa), 309 (against Pakistan) and 293 (against Sri Lanka) are the three highest scores for India in the longest format. Sehwag played 104 Tests, but was unfortunate to not have scored 10,000 runs. He remained at 8,586 runs at 49.34, with 23 centuries and 32 half-centuries. In 251 ODIs, Sehwag scored 8,273 runs at 35.05, with 15 centuries and 38 fifties.

Let us take a look at how Sehwag was wished by the cricket fraternity on Thursday:

For someone who continues to entertain on the social media with the way he wishes others, it was truly special for Sehwag to get something in return.
