An unbeaten 92 by skipper Prashant Dalal helped Haryana beat Delhi by eight wickets and clinch the National Boys U-14 Cricket Trophy on Friday.
Put into bat, Delhi rode on a 118-ball 90-run third wicket stand between Kunal Dabas 58 (6×4, 2×6) and Jatin Shokeen 53 runs (3×4) to score 190 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 35 overs.
However, Dalal’s entertaining 91-ball knock and his 129-run partnership for the first wicket with Gurdeep Singh (54) helped Haryana surpass the target in 32.1 overs.
Dalal, who also took a wicket with his bowling, was adjudged the man-of-the-match, while teammate Gurdeep Singh bagged the player-of-the-tournament award.
Delhi’s Kunal Dabas received the best batsman award, while Mohd Nadeem from Uttar Pradesh walked away with the best bowler trophy.
Following their win, Haryana won a purse of Rs 51,000 and attractive prizes, while the runner-up team took home Rs 25,000.
