Hashim Amla managed to reach his 18th One-Day International (ODI) century off 103 balls in the second ODI played against West Indies at Johannesburg on Sunday. Amla has been in splendid form in the recent time. He got a half-century in the previous ODI as well. He also surpassed the 5, 000 run mark in the previous ODI and became the fastest to do so in the history of cricket. In the second ODI played on Sunday, Amla played some flamboyant shots and pierced the gaps with effectiveness.

West Indies bowlers have failed to create enough wicket-taking chances and both the opening batsmen have done well to make full use of the freebies. South Africa scored 51 runs in the first 10 overs. A score of more than 300 is on the cards keeping in mind the deep batting line-up of South Africa.

Both the teams fielded an unchanged squad for the second ODI.  South Africa earlier managed to win the first ODI quite comfortably, giving West Indies a slight jolt after they won the T20I series.
