South African batsman Hashim Amla has taken the least number of innings to reach 15 One-Day International (ODI) hundreds. Amla took 86 innings to reach 15 ODI hundreds. Second in the list is India’s vice-captain Virat Kohli, who has taken 106 innings to reach 15 ODI hundreds.
Amla was named the South African Test captain after former South African Graeme Smith announced his retirement few months back.
An opening batsman now, Amla highest ODI score is 150, which he scored against England at Southampton in 2012. Amla scored an unbeaten 122 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo on Sunday. Amla’s ODI batting average 56.12, next only to Ryan ten Doeschate of Netherlands, who has played only 33 ODIs, compared to Amla’s 89.
