South Africa set a target of 310 against Zimbabwe in the first One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match ODI series at Bulawayo today (August 17).

Quinton de Kock started things in style for the hosts, scoring 63 off 68 balls before being dismissed by John Nyumbu. Hashim Amla, who played the anchor role batted out the 50 overs to score his 15th ODI hundred. Faf du Plessis who came in at number 3, made a slow start but made up for it when he dispatched Luke Jongwe for four back to back boundaries. He fell to a Prosper Utseya delivery at 59.

After the series, Zimbabwe and South Africa will play a triangular series which will also feature Australia as a competing nation.
