Hardik was booed relentlessly at the Wankhede during the IPL 2024 season, however, thanks to his brilliant performances in the T20 World Cup, he has gained more followers than ever. The same Wankhede that was booing the Mumbai Indians captain just a few months ago was now busy chanting his name again and again during India’s felicitation ceremony.

Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma gave a massive shoutout to Hardik for propelling the Men In Blue to World Cup glory with his match-winning final over. Rohit was in the middle of his speech and as soon he mentioned Hardik’s name, the Wankhede produced a deafening roar to salute the all-rounder for his heroics in the World Cup final.

“Hardik was bowling the last crucial over for us. Hats off to him for that last. You know how many over you need to defend, there is always so much pressure to bowl that over, hats off to him,” Rohit said.
