Ajinkya backed Yashasvi to do well in ENG series
Indian Test team witnessed a transition phase in their lineup as veteran players R Ashwin, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired from red-ball format within the last 6 months. Selectors named young players as their replacements, along with Shubman Gill being named as the new captain.
India and England are facing each other in a five-match Test series- which has begin today (June 20). Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of the key players for the lineup with his impressive batting skills. Jaiswal has previously played against the English team once in a five-match series, where he scored more than 700 runs.
Coming from that, Ajinkya Rahane has shared his belief on Yashasvi Jaiswal doing great in England throughout this whole five-match Test series.
“Personally, I’m really looking forward to seeing Yashasvi Jaiswal do well because opening the batting in England is really important,” Rahane said in a video on his YouTube channel.
“He has the game for it — he can control one end and also go on the attack when needed. So I’m really looking forward to seeing Jaiswal perform in England,” he added.
