Jasprit Bumrah bowling
Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim praised star pacer Jasprit Burmah for his absolute great performance in the first test against South Africa at Eden Gardens.
He praised Burmah for his focus and calm and always had a great performance on the pitch. However, team India lost that match by 30 runs as they failed to chase the easy target of 124 runs only in the final innings.
The reality of the game is that the pitch was difficult to bat on. However, the South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma managed to showcase his ability and scored a remarkable innings. Also, the great bowling performance also helped the visitors to clinch the opener of the series.
The unique fact is that the South African team won their first match in India since 2010. However, the Indian team’s main focus will be to beat the visitors in the second test in Guwahati.
Speaking about Burmah, Saba Karim stated that, “I think he believes only in the things he can control, and the wicket, for that matter, becomes irrelevant for him because he has those special skills that come into effect whenever the team needs them, not only in the first innings, but also in the second. To break a partnership, you look to Jasprit Bumrah,“
“In all conditions, he’s your go-to bowler. And I thought that in this Test match at least, except for the final day, where he was brought in late, he was utilised quite well. In the first innings, that extended spell worked so well for him. It also shows and augurs well for India that he is so fit at the moment and hungry to pick up more wickets,” Karim added.
