Dhaka: Heavy rain since early morning has delayed the start of the second day’s play in the second and final Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Dhaka on Friday. The pitch and a major part of the outfield at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium were covered, but with the weather showing no signs of relenting the teams were asked not to travel to the ground. Bangladesh, who won the toss and elected to bat, were due to resume at their overnight score of 246 for eight. The first Test ended in a draw in Chittagong after rain washed out play on the last two days. LIVE SCORECARD: Bangladesh vs South Africa 2015, 2nd Test at Dhaka, Day 2

Bangladesh had won the toss on the opening day, and skipper Mushfiqur Rahman did not hesitate in opting to bat first. There was a change in each playing eleven, with Nasir Hossain replacing Taijul Islam in the Bangladeshi camp while Dane Vilas came in place of the out-of-form Quinton de Kock as the South African wicketkeeper. The highlight of the day occurred in the fifth over of the match when Dale Steyn removed Tamim Iqbal on a score of 6 to collect his 400th Test wicket.
