ENG vs IND 5th Test match between England and India at Edgbaston: What a historic win for England, level the series 2-2. They have been unstoppable under Brendon McCullum. Made mockery of the 378 run target. India has one of the best bowling attacks in the world but Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow left them black and blue. The run rate never fell under 4, showing that England’s Bazball approach is going to hurt many teams. An easy chase for England! Was nice bringing you all the updates from the match. We will meet again when the two teams lock horns in the T20I series. Till Then, tc.

We are into the final day of the 5th Test between England and India at Edgbaston and it’s the hosts who will go into the final day as favourites. India dominated the game for the first three days but England put on a dominating display on day 4 to take command of the game. They need 119 runs to win and with Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root set, and Stokes, Billings to follow, they will fancy their chances. However, India have staged some scintillating comebacks in the past and will be positive about doing something similar today. Stay tuned as we bring all the updates from Day 5 of this enthralling Test match.

What a day for England!  Turned the game 360 degrees in their favour. First, the bowlers bowled magnificently and restricted India to 245 then two century stands between Alex Lees and Zak Crawley, and Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow have put them upfront. They are just 119 runs away from a historic win. With Root and Bairstow set and Stokes and Billings to come, England will start day 5 as favourites. What a game this has been!

England’s session but the wicket of Zak Crawley has pulled things back for India. England batters came in with great intent and scored runs at a brisk pace. They put Indian bowlers under pressure and forced them to bowl at their strength. It all looked gloomy for India before Bumrah got rid of Crawley. England are eyeing a historic chase and the openers have laid a solid platform. The match is headed towards a cracking finish.

A Good day for England so far. They have bowled India out for 245, which is a commendable effort given that India were 153/3 at one time. Skipper Ben Stokes led from the front and picked up 4 wickets. England came out with a short ball strategy on Day 4 and that worked wonders for them. For India, Rishabh pant scored a 50 in the second innings as well. England now need 387 runs to win, which is still a massive ask, but given England’s firepower in the batting, they are not completely out of it..

Hello and Welcome to Day 4 of the fifth Test between India and England. What a match it has turned out to be. The pendulum has swung from one team to another but heading into Day 4, India are clearly in the driver’s seat with 257 runs ahead in the game. England chased big scores in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand and given the form Jonny Bairstow is in, India would want to post a target beyond 450 runs. India bat deep and some big hitters are waiting for their turn in the dugout. England are in a dangerous position and they have no other option but to go for wickets and try to restrict India to under 400. Remember a draw will ensure a series in for India. So stay tuned with us as we bring live updates from what would be a cracking day of Test cricket.

That’s stumps on Day 3 and India are bossing the game with a lead of 257. Jonny Bairstow brought England back into the game with a blistering century but got no support from the other end as India bowled out England for 284, taking a healthy lead. India’s second innings started poorly as Gill and Vihari were dismissed early. Virat Kohli came and played some crisp shots but he too failed to get a big score. Pujara stood firm on the other end and scored a solid 50. Rishabh Pant also played with maturity on the other end and stitched an unbeaten 50-run partnership with Pujara. With two days to go, England have a stiff task of saving this match.

England have got two early wickets but India are still in complete control with the lead nearing the 200 run mark. Virat Kohli has come in and played some crisp shots, Pujara is looking very solid at the other end. India bossing the game right now.

England have been bowled out foir 284 and India have taken a healthy 134-run lead. England inning was all about Jonny Bairstow who smashed a blistering century. Unfortunately, he didn’t get any support from the other end. India back in the driver’s seat. They would now look to bat four sessions and post a massive target for India. They will be wary of the Bairstow threat in the second inning.

It has been a Jonny Bairstow show that has brought England back in the game. India did pick up Ben Stokes but Jonny Bairstow has been unstoppable. He is just 9 runs away from what would be a magnificent 100. India need to get rid of him to go into a position of strength once again. Till the time Bairstow is at the crease, they will be very concerned.

It’s Day 3 of the Edgbaston Test and India are bossing the game right now. England have lost half their side and they are still trailing by 332 runs. The hosts will need something special from Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes. India, on the other hand, would want to remove the pair quicky and bowl out England for as low as possible. Today should give a clear idea of where the match is headed to.

That’s the end of Day 3 and what a day it turned out for India. Led by Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian pacers were sensational and left England batters Bamboozled, leaving them reeling at 84/5 at the end of the day. England have lost Joe Root as well and now the onus of bailing England out of trouble rest on Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow.  However, the Indians have their tail up and it won’t be easy for the pair. Earlier in the day, India ended their innings on 416. Jadeja became the second centurion of the inning and along with the tail, helped India get past 350 run mark. Jasprit Bumrah came in and smashed England bowlers to all corners, including a 35-run over of Stuart Broad.

India are bossing the game and it’s now up to England to save the game from here. Do join us tomorrow for another enthralling day.

India are on top, especially after the wicket of Joe Root, who played a very uncharacteristic inning. England till trail by 338 runs, which is a fair distance away. Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes will need to pull off something extraordinary if England have to come back into the match.

India will be delighted with their effort in the first innings. From being 98-5 to 416, this is a top effort. Pant and Jadeja smashed centuries and Jasprit Bumrah’s  16-ball 31-run cameo was the icing on the cake. With the ball, Bumrah gave India an early breakthrough and clean-bowled Alex Lees. The visitors are on top at the moment.

Hello and Welcome to Day 3 of the rescheduled 5th Test between England and India. England started the day with a bang and reduced India to 98-5. However, what followed was a total mockery of the England bowling. Rishabh Pant came in and blasted England bowlers to all corners of the park, racing to a blistering hundred. He got good support from Ravindra Jadeja as the duo stitched a 222 run stand for the sixth wicket. Pant missed out on 150 and was dismissed during the final hour of the match. Shardul Thakur followed him soon. However, Jadeja kept going and continued his assault on the England bowlers. He ended the day at 17 runs short of what would be a magnificent hundred. Jadeja will be key if India will have to reach the 400-run mark, which will be a very good score on this wicket.

It has been a terrific recovery from India after being blown away in the first half of the day. At 98-5, things looked gloomy for them but Rishabh Pant played one of the best innings and brought India back in the game. He and Ravindra Jadeja added 222 runs together. Pant was dismissed 4 runs short of the 150 and Shardul Thakur followed him soon to give some respite to England. However, India will be the happier side going into the dressing room on Day 1. Jadeja is still at the crease and he can take India near that 400 run mark.

England were all over India when they got the wickets of Hanuma Vihari, Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli, leaving India reeling at 97-5,. However, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja has knocked the stuffing out of England. The partnership has soared to 150 at a healthy strike rate and England will be really concerned now. Pant has reached his hundred and he will be keen on making it a real big one.

England were all over India after three wickets post Lunch but Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja has stabilized the innings with a 50-run stand. Pant is marching towards his half-century. India has maintained a good run rate as well. England will be wary that if these two guys stay there for two sessions, the hosts will be in trouble as the conditions are not easy to bat.

The start post Lunch has not been good by India. They have lost two big wickets of Virat Kohli and Hanuma Vihari. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas iyer are at the crease. Both players play positively thus if they can stay at the wicket for a a few sessions, India will have a good total on the board.

England will be the happier side going into the Lunch. India got off to a good start but England pulled things back with the wicket of Gill. Pujara and Vihari looked comfortable at the crease despite the ball jagging around. However, England didn’t allow them to score freely. Just before the stoppage of play, Anderson got his second wicket and dismissed Pujara, putting England ahead in the match. Now, Virat Kohli is at the crease and all eyes will be on Kohli vs Anderson battle.

It has been a good start for both teams. Indian openers Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara gave India a stable start. Gill looked really good but perished to a false shot. England bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad have also bowled well and not given too many run scoring opportunities at times. They could have nipped out a few more wickets but Indian batters have played them well.

Hello and Welcome to the live coverage of the 5th Test match between England and India at Edgbaston, Birmingham. A lot is on the line for both teams in this crucial game, not only in terms of the series but the World Test Championship as well. Firstly, India leads the series 2-1 and a win or a draw will give them their first Test series win over England in England since 2007. This will help India stamp their authority as the best current Test team.

More so, this will help them boost their position in the World Test championship. They are currently placed third with a win percentage of 58.33.

For England, they have been so poor in this WTC cycle that even if they win all their remaining matches in the WTC cycle, their chances of qualifying for the final are negligible. However, they would want to continue the winning momentum they picked in the recently concluded series against New Zealand. Under new coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes, England thrashed New Zealand 3-0. A win over a quality team like India will be a massive confidence booster for the future.

Going into the match, India has a lot of issues to deal with. Their skipper Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the match due to COVID-19. The team will be led by a new skipper Jasprit Bumrah. KL Rahul is also not in the best of form. All eyes now will be on Virat Kohli, who will have a big responsibility of shouldering the team’s batting.

Showers are expected on the first two days of the match and we can have a start stop play for the first two days.
