Ninth season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will being from April 9 going on until May 29. IPL 2016 which kick-starts just after the conclusion of ICC World Twenty20 (T20), which was won by West Indies will see a flurry of international superstars descending to play for the eight city-based franchises spread all throughout India. This year will see two new franchises being included in the mix,  Rising Pune Supergiants and the Gujarat Lions which were purchased by Sanjiv Goenka and  Keshav Bansal-led Intex Technologies respectively.  

Apart from these the usual teams include Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 9, at 8.00 PM IST, with Mumbai Indians taking on Rising Pune Supergiants. The final of IPL 2016 will take place on May 29 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
