‘I don’t think England bowlers…’: Former Australia cricketer shares key to India’s success in upcoming Test series against England

Former Australia cricketer Mathew Hayden revealed how India can win the upcoming Test series in England. India and England are set to face each other in a five-match test series which is schedule to commence from June 20th.

Ahead of the crucial series, India may find themselves in a poor position as veteran batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket. As a result, expectations from the Asian giants are low. However, Matthew Hayden believes India can silence the critics if they manage to win the Tests in the tough conditions of Leeds and Manchester.

“I don’t think England bowlers are that good, they have got a number of injuries and a number of retirees as well, that will be the challenge. The northern Test matches when it’s zipping around that will be key, win that one and it could well be a series that goes India’s way,” Hayden said on ‘JioHotstar’.

England is currently dealing with a few injury concerns ahead of the series. Mark Wood has been ruled out of at least the first three Tests due to injury, Jofra Archer will miss the opening match, and Gus Atkinson is still recovering from a hamstring injury.

Amidst their growing injury list, England have called up young pacer Eddie Jack to train with the squad. The 19-year-old Hampshire seamer caught the selectors’ eye after claiming KL Rahul’s wicket in the second unofficial Test between India A and the England Lions.
