India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli has said that he might come out of his T20I retirement. However, there is a catch to this decision. Kohli had announced his retirement from the format after India won the 2024 T20 World Cup.

However, in a not so serious statement, Kohli stated the he “might just” come out of retirement for one game in case if India reaches the final of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics men’s cricket event. For those who are not known to this information, cricket is going to mark it’s return to Olympics after 128 long years, during the 2028 Summer Games.

For Olympics? no. If we are playing for a gold medal, I just might sneak in for one game, win a medal, and then return home,” Kohli said on the sidelines of Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit.

Kohli was in a pleasant form during India’s Champions Trophy title-winning campaign. The Men in Blue had defeated new Zealand in the finals and won their third tournament title.

The 36-year-old has scored 218 runs in five matches, averaging at 54.50. He scored an unbeaten match-winning century against historic-rivals Pakistan before he scored an important 84-run knock against Australia in the semi-final.
