I will not retire from T20 cricket: Misbah-ul-Haq

Misbah-ul-Haq is still hopeful of a comeback and said that he would continue to play T20s at the domestic level AFP

Misbah may have been axed from the Pakistan T20 squad, but he isn t ready to retire from the format. Mohammed Hafeez has replaced him as captain for T20 internationals.

Misbah is still hopeful of a comeback and was quoted by the Daily Times, “”I have not decided to retire from the T20 and will play at domestic level to stage a comeback.”

He will continue to lead Pakistan in Tests and One Day Internationals (ODIs) and said “”Whatever the selectors and board thinks right, they have done it. I am not disheartened. My job is to still focus on leading the side well in Tests and ODIs which remains a major responsibility.”

Zaka Ashraf, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief had said that “”Misbah served Pakistan cricket with pride and he is doing his best for the team and he has also endorsed the decision to appoint Hafeez as T20 captain.”

“The whole world is experimenting with different teams for different formats of the game, and that s what we are doing now. You need players of different temperaments for all the three formats,” Ashraf added.
