Ian Botham, the former England all-rounder a said Alastair Cook-led current England team have the potential to reclaim Ashes in 2015. According to Botham the turnaround, which England had after the Lords Test was stunning and it has changed the moral of the team. He felt it had also shown that England have enough talent to give Australia a series challenge in next year’s Ashes.

Botham also wrote, in his column in Daily Mirror, the gap between England’s next Test matches on April 2015 against the West Indies would roll around quickly and Cook’s boys have to be ready for the next challenge. Botham also praised James Anderson for his supreme performance in the recent series.

Talking about India’s performance Botham wrote, “I worry about India’s interest in Test cricket when the best they have can be blown away so easily. I hope for everyone else’s sake this is the wake-up call they need to put more time and effort into it.” Botham also urged England to concentrated on One-Day cricket next.
