The right-handed opening batter from Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran, secured a massive record in history of ICC Champions Trophy. during the clash against England, he played an innings of 177 runs which is the highest in the history of the tournament.

The previous record was held by Ben Duckett with a score of 165 runs in the 2025 Champions Trophy clash against Australia on February 22 (Saturday). Duckett had posted the score in 143 balls at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Ibrahim’s innings began strong and he kept that flow throughout his knock. He hit 12 fours and 6 sixes in 146 deliveries. He was eventually dismissed by Liam Livingstone on the first ball of last over of England’s inning, caught out by Jofra Archer.

Though Australia had won that match, Ben was a highlighted player for scoring the record for highest runs in the tournament. However, shortly after that achievement, Ibrahim Zadran has now jumped over the English player and secured himself at the top spot for this amazing feat.
