In an attempt to protect the players and avoid a controversy similar to the one that happened during the Indian Premier League 2013, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set strict guidelines for the players during their stay in England for the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

Acccording to NDTV, BCCI handed out the following points as guidelines for the players:

  1. Players will not be allowed for Night outs. They cannot bring in guests and there will be a  curfew at 10.30 pm.
  2. Players cannot use mobile phones on match days
  3. Players should move in groups of two or more after informing the manager
  4. All parcels will be duly scanned by the manager/logistics manager
  5. Security staff will track CCTV footage in hotels and dressing rooms

This comes in the wake of the recent IPL 2013 spot-fixing controversy where three players were allegedly in links with various bookies. Earlier, the BCCI had put forth 12 points to aid a clean up of cricket in India.
