Former Australia cricketer Dean Jones went on a rant against the Australian team after their 243-run humiliation at the hands of India in the warm-up fixture prior to the ICC Champions Trophy.
Â
Australia had started the game well, restricting India to 55 for five before Dinesh Karthik (146 not out) and captain MS Dhoni (91) shared a 211-run stand to take them to a commanding 308 for six. In reply, Australia were bowled out for a paltry 65.

I don’t like what I see.. Aust bowled out for 65 v India… And they don’t have anyone who is quick! Might be a long 3 months

I can’t help but think about Aust shocking performance of 65 v India.. It’s time our batsmen had some pride in their game. Cont’d

It’s time they protected their wicket more than their bank balance! It’s time they worked out that they set their own high standards! Cont’d

Our fans want better performances.. You are paid to do well.. Not to put in crap performances like that against India. Cont’d

I don’t care how you look.. Just fight to give us ascore! Fight.. Scrap…Bat for 2 hrs without a run. But never give in as u did v India!

I am not taking anything away from India’s fine performance.. We are better than that!!! Or bloody are we?

Glad I wasn’t the Australian batting coach as I would have ripped the paint off the walls! And they would have more than naughty boy nets!
