ICC Development Programme Awards 2016 launched
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced the ICC Development Programme Awards for 2016 nomination period was opened on Wednesday, 7 December 2016 at 1200 (Dubai time) until 31 December through the official portal available. The Awards, in its fourteenth year, form part of the ICC’s commitment to promoting excellence in cricket development in the ICC’s Associate and Affiliate Members creating improving structures within the 95 member federations; including in high performance, fundraising, governance, administration and promotion areas. In addition, the Awards reward innovation and exceptional service to those who are improving the quality and reach of the international game.
Awards will be presented this year across six categories with one winner per category, with a focus on outstanding individual contributions to cricket and to recognise the excellent work of those who are tirelessly committed to globally developing the sport. Further details and application forms are available. All six winners will receive a grant to their national governing body which can be used for development within its member federation, with the amounts detailed below. Commenting on the ICC Development Programme Awards 2016, ICC Head of Global Development William Glenwright said: “The ICC is dedicated to growing cricket in different markets and improving the quality and reach of international cricket. These Awards therefore provide an opportunity to highlight some of the outstanding initiatives taking place, and thank the dedicated people that are making a positive contribution to cricket’s development around the world.

“The six categories highlight the importance of off-field support to provide a structure for success on the field. 2016 has seen continual progress in these areas in many Associate and Affiliate members, providing an important contribution to each facet of game development globally,” said Glenwright.

Nominations need to be submitted to the ICC by 31 December 2016. The ICC will put the nominations forward to the judging panel which will include ICC Chairman, Mr. Shashank Manohar and ICC Chief Executive, David Richardson. The winners will then be announced by the end of February 2017.

· Lifetime Service Award ($2,000)
· Volunteer of the Year ($2,000)
· Spirit of Cricket ($2,000)
· Women’s Cricket Award ($2,000)
