The rookie pair of Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw has risen in the ICC Test batsmen rankings after dominant performances for India in the 2-0 sweep of West Indies.

Shaw, 18, marked his Test debut with a century at Rajkot to enter the rankings at 73rd place. Scores of 70 and 33 not out in the Hyderabad Test earned him the Man-of-the-Series award and gained him a rise of 13 spots to occupy 60th position.

Pant’s twin scores of 92 and 92 in the two Tests have moved him up from 111th place to 62nd.

Ajinkya Rahane made 80 in Hyderabad shift up four places to 18th in the Test batsmen rankings, while a ten-wicket haul in the same Test has moved up Umesh Yadav four places in the Test bowlers’ rankings. He is now at 25th place.

In the Test allrounder rankings, West Indies captain Jason Holder was moved up to a career-high ninth position after scoring 52 and taking 5/56 in India’s first innings of the Hyderabad Test.
