Sri Lanka dismissed danger man Brendon McCullum while Rob Nicol reached half-century as New Zealand reached 133 for two at the end of the 15th over in the first Super Eight match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2012 at Pallekele on Thursday.

Ajantha Mendis dismissed Brendon McCullum for 25 after he and Rob Nicol put on 42 runs for the second wicket.

Earlier, Sri Lanka struck back with the wicket of Martin Guptill after New Zealand openers stitched a half-century run stand

Nicol and Guptill got New Zealand off to a steady start after captain Ross Taylor won the toss and opted to bat.
