Dharamsala: Riding high on a rousing campaign in the Asia Cup, the Bangladesh cricket team has reached the city of Dharamsala to play the ICC World T20 2016 tournament. They will play against the Netherlands in their opening match of the first round on Wednesday, which is essentially a qualifying round for the Super 10 stage. They reached the city late on Monday and have just a day in hand to hone their skills. After losing the rain-hit Asia Cup final against India by eight wickets on Sunday, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza had insisted the defeat would not dent the team. In the first round, Mashrafe and his men have been pitted in Group A which also includes Ireland and Oman. SCORECARD: Bangladesh vs Netherlands , 3rd T20 Match, Group A, ICC T20 World Cup 2016

If they get through to the Super 10s, Bangladesh are set to move into Group 2 alongside India, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand. Bangladesh played some exciting cricket in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2016. They reached the final beating some big teams including Pakistan. However, they lost the final match to India. Their batting failed them as they were not able to defend their paltry score of 120. Their top-scorer in the match was Sabbir Rahman with his 29-ball 32.

Bangladesh will play in the qualifiers of ICC World T20 2016. After their first game against Netherlands on March 9, their next fixture is scheduled two days later against Ireland at the same venue Dharamsala. They will then play Oman on March 13. All the three matches will be played at Dharamsala.
