In the final match of the warm-ups before the ICC Women s World Cup 2017, West Indies took on South Africa at Lime Kilns Ground, Oakham. Winning the all-important toss, West Indies chose to bat, a decision they regretted from the word go. South Africa s bowling completely annihilated their opponents into submission, bundling them for mere 63 in 23.5 overs. It was Masabata Klaas that downed West Indies middle order, picking up 4 for 14. South Africa, in reply, did not waste any time and looked in control from the onset. West Indies Women did manage to instil fear after picking quick wickets but South Africa Women finally managed to get their target and win the match by 6 wickets. Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt came out with an aggressive intent and knocked off quick runs. The pair added 45 runs for the first wicket with Laura doing most of the scoring. Laura departed after making 26 after Deandra Dottin plucked her catch. Lizelle went soon after getting cleaned up by Shanel Daley for 5. Anisa Mohammed did manage to pluck two quick wickets for herself nabbing Trisha Chetty and Chloe Tryon for 5 and 0 respectively.

It was the pair of Mignon du Preez (12) and Andrie Steyn (1) that got South Africa to safety and thus enabling a 6-wicket win for them. Earlier, opening the batting for West Indies it was Hayley Matthews and Felicia Walters that provided some resistance for their side. The pair fended everything that South African bowlers dished out. Both added 35 runs in 10 overs before Moseline Daniels struck gold picking up Hayley for 19. With this the collapse started as batswomen one after the other kept falling. Felicia fell for 14 off Masabata Klaas.

Masabata picked her second in the form of Reniece Boyce for 10. West Indies Women from 60 for 3 went to 63 all out. Masabata picked up Deandra Dottin for 6 in her third over. Next batswomen Merissa Aguilleira was run out for 1 by Masabata herself.

Shanel Daley too was run out for 0 by de Klerk. Skipper Anisa Mohammed became Masabata s fourth and final scalp for 0.

Akeira Peters became Sune Luus s first wicket falling for zero. Final and last wicket to fall was Shamilia Connell, who was much like her teammates run out for 0. This was also the 4th duck of the innings.
