ICC Women’s World T20 2012: Australia hands India heavy defeat

Australia Women won by eight wickets against India in their Group A World T20 match on Thursday at Galle.
Jess Cameron scored the winning runs for the side, who was accompanied by Lisa Sthalekar at that time.
Meg Lanning top scored with 39 overs. However, she was bowled by Jhulan Goswami.
Australia reached 68 with a loss of one wicket in ten overs, in reply to Indian Women‘s score of 104 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Australia lost the wicket of Alyssa Healy, which was taken by Shublakshmi Sharma.
Earlier after winning the toss and electing to bat first, India lost quick wickets. India lost openers Amita Sharma (11) in the fifth over and Poonam Raut scored was dismissed in the seventh over.
Raut top scored for India with 21 runs as she was dismissed by Osborne who picked three wickets for Australia, the most in the match.
Skipper Mithali Raj’s attempt to resurrect the score but was ran out on 18 runs by Jess Jonassen.
