Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc is helping wicketkeeper-batswoman Alyssa Healy with his tips about what she can expect at ICC Women’s World T20 2016. Alyssa is also the fiancée of Starc. She is yet to get accustomed to the conditions in India where the mega-event will happen. Starc, who is currently nursing an injury, has played a lot of cricket in the subcontinent and hence is aware of the weather and pitch conditions there. His advice to Alyssa may help her when she takes to the field this year in the most esteemed Twenty20 international (T20I) tournament for women. Alyssa is considered one of the best wicketkeepers in contemporary women’s cricket. Former Australian wicketkeeper Ian Healy is Alyssa’s uncle. In a conversation with Cricket Australia’s official website she said, “I have had a few discussions with him about different grounds over here and what they play like. It’s nice to be able to swap notes like that. He has only had a bit of experience over here, but it is nice coming from a bowlers point of view to see where they may target.” READ: Mitchell Starc stays back in Bangladesh to cheer on girlfriend, Alyssa Healy

She also spoke about BBL and T20 cricket, “I have done a lot of top order batting in the BBL and in the past for Australia. If that is where they want to go I am more than willing to put my hand up and do that, but there are plenty of other options as well. Our batting has probably let us down in the last few tours in the T20 format. I think they [coaching staff] are potentially looking at what they can do and what changes they can make to make sure we are making enough runs as our bowling has been really good.”
