The fourth match of the ICC Women’s World T20 between Sri Lanka and England on Saturday ended in a no-contest after constant rain resulted in abandoning of the match without a ball being bowled.

After overnight showers and thunderstorms splashed over St. Lucia, both teams were awarded a point each. It had been raining the entire previous night and the umpires called it off 10 minutes before the scheduled start of play.

With forecast pointing towards more rain over the next five to eight days, there is a possibility that St. Lucia, which is expected to host nine matches, could lose out on matches.

England’s next game is against Bangladesh on Monday, while Sri Lanka take on South Africa the same day.
