As the starting date of Cricket’s mega event, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is nearing, the Airfares to Australia and New Zealand is increasing significantly. It is now less than 100 days left for the event (96 to be specific) and already the airfares for the major cities of Australia and New Zealand has increased than usual. In coming days it will go up further.

According to a report published in Business Line, there is a good news for the cricket fans who are looking forward to travel down to Downunder to witness the cricket’s biggest event. Tickets of the high voltage encounters like India vs Pakistan, India vs South Africa are still available. Fans can book their travel package from the travel agents approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC). But the bad news is that they may end up paying 40 per cent higher for travel packages if they do not book within the next 10 days.

Shashank Shekhar Mishra, the founder and CEO of Sports Konnect, an ICC authorised sports management company is expecting, the flight ticket fares between India and key cities in Australia and New Zealand will be much higher than usual withing next few weeks. “Adelaide [where India will take on Pakistan] is not as well connected compared to Sydney or Melbourne. Carriers with direct or one-stop connections to Adelaide are almost booked out for February 14,” he said.

Meanwhile various travel agencies are expecting around 5000 to 6000 cricket enthusiasts could travel from India to cheer for MS Dhoni’s boys in next year’s cricket extravaganza in Australia and New Zealand.
