Cricket World Cup 2019 Opening Party

While the first game of the much awaited ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will take place on Thursday as hosts England take on South Africa at The Oval in London on Thursday, the opening ceremony or the ‘Opening Party’ of the 12th edition of the World Cup will take place at The Mall in London on Wednesday.

India, who are one of the pre-tournament favourites, along side the Eoin Morgan-led England will open their World Cup campaign on June 5 at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in Southampton on Wednesday.

Comedian Paddy McGuinness and ex-England allrounder Andrew Flintoff will host the evening which is expected to be attended by former cricketers from the ten countries which will be participating in the World Cup 2019.  Around 4000 fans are expected to witness the action live from the venue.

International Cricket Council (ICC), who had earlier termed the opening ceremony as the “most celebrated start to a Cricket World Cup ever”, will officially launch the World Cup 2019 today.
