Indian top order crumbled against Australian pace attack as they lost five wickets in their Super Eights clash at R Premadasa Stadium at Colombo on Friday.

Shane Watson dealt two crucial blows for India in 11th over removing Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan.

Earlier, India lost opener Gautam Gambhir early for 17 runs as the opener was run out in the third over. India lost Virat Kohli – its second wicket – in the eighth over against Australia in the Super Eights clash at Colombo on Friday.

Kohli was dismissed by pacer Pat Cummins as he attempted a pull stroke, conceding a catch to Daniel Christian. He scored 15 runs.

Rohit Sharma too was dismissed cheaply by Mitchell Starc for one run.

Gambhir opened the batting along with all-rounder Irfan Pathan as Virender Sehwag was left out of the Indian team.

Indian captain MS Dhoni had won the toss and elected to bat.
