The Pakistan cricket team set foot on Indian soil on Saturday evening amid tight security for ICC World T20 2016. The team traveled from Lahore to Abu Dhabi and rested there for some time before boarding an Etihad flight to arrive here. India and Pakistan will lock horns in the lost awaited match of Super-10 stage of Group B at Eden Gardens on March 19. The online process to register for the lottery system for India-Pakistan match has started 12.00 hrs Indian Standard Time (IST) from today for a 48-hour window. A 27-member Pakistan cricket contingent left for India on Saturday morning to take part in the ICC World Twenty20 (T20) 2016, finally ending days of uncertainty over their participation in the mega event. Head coach Waqar Younis, before departing for India, left a message on his Twitter account calling for unity in the team. “Come on together we can do it,” he tweeted a message aimed at motivating the players. He also mentioned that though the Pakistan was hit by security issues, the focus would now be only on cricket and excel in the same. Pakistan won the World T20 in 2009 under Younis Khan after being beaten in the final of the inaugural event in South Africa by India. Though the squad is leaving for India, the inquiry committee was under cloud of thoughts formed due to PCB holding its first meeting on Friday to begin a probe to find out the reasons for the team’s disappointing show in the recent Asia Cup in Bangladesh.

Pakistan’s senior player missed the meeting who is part of the inquiry committee while Misbah-ul-Haq attended the meeting.
