In Match 6 of VIVO IPL 2018, Rajasthan Royals took on Delhi Daredevils in their first home game of the season. Both teams wanted to come hard against each other following a defeat in their respective tournament-openers. Daredevils elected to bowl first, as has been the trend in this IPL, and got two quick breakthroughs. Ajinkya Rahane’s sedate 45 and a late flourish by Rahul Tripathi (15*) and Jos Buttler’s 18-ball 29 propelled Rajasthan to 153 for 5 (17.5). However, rain played spoilsport, and interrupted the match for more than two hours.

After hours of delay, there was a six-over shootout with Daredevils needing 71. Glenn Maxwell’s rusty 17 and Rishabh Pant’s hard-fought 20 pushed Delhi to 60 for 4; resulting in a 10-run loss. Ben Laughlin’s 2 for 20 turned the match in Rajasthan’s favour.
