Rain brings third day to an end
The weather conditions have led the umpires to call stumps for the third day of the Melbourne Test. India finishes the day on 358/9 with Nitish Kumar Reddy unbeaten on 105 and Mohammed Siraj uneaten on 2. The Men in Blue still trail Australia by 116 runs and the duo of Reddy and Siraj will be looking to take the visitors as close as they can to the Baggy Greens’ first inning total of 474.
Rain interrupts play once again
Rain has interrupted the match for a second time during the third day. India go into the break at 358/9, trailing by 116 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy has played an incredible unbeaten knock of 105 and will be looking to continue when the covers get taken off.
Nitish scores memorable ton
Nitish Kumar Reddy has reached a fine maiden century here in Melbourne. He does so in fine fashion, smashing Scott Boland for a boundary. It is safe to say that this innings will live long in the minds of Indian fans.
Bumrah also heads back to the dugout
Pat Cummins gets the wicket of Jasprit Bumrah for a duck and now India is down to 9 wickets with Nitish Reddy still batting on 99.
Sundar departs
Nathan Lyon breaks the partnership between Sundar and Reddy by getting rid of the former for 50 runs. The spinner picks up his second wicket of the innings as India has now been restricted to 348/8.
Sundar reaches fifty
This is turning out to be an incredible partnership for India and now Washington Sundar has also reached his fifty following his partner Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is currently batting on 94. After 108 overs, India stand on 345/7 and still trail by 129 runs.
