India leads Australia 2-1 in the five-match T20I series, and the visitors may make some changes in Saturday’s fifth and final game. Sanju Samson, who hasn’t played since the second match, could be brought in by the Men in Blue to replace Jitesh Sharma, who scored 22 and 3 in the third and fourth games, respectively.
Meanwhile, the team management may bring in Harshit Rana and rest speedster Jasprit Bumrah because the South Africa series begins next week. To keep Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh in contention, the management may also give them a chance, possibly resting Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar.
Although Ben Dwarshuis went wicketless in the previous game, Australia may continue with him, given Gabba’s traditional preference for seamers over spinners. Glenn Maxwell, who made a comeback in the fourth T20I, is also likely to feature in the fifth and final game in Brisbane.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav remains a key player to watch. Despite flashes of brilliance, he hasn’t been consistent in the series. Even at the Gold Coast, when he looked in fine touch, he failed to convert his start. In Brisbane, he’ll hope to play a meaningful innings and guide India to a series-clinching victory.
