South Africa A put up their A game to hand a massive 235-run defeat to India A on Tuesday. On the occasion of India s Independence Day, the team failed to pull off any heroics at the LC de Villiers Oval, Pretoria as they lost the 4 wickets they had in hand at stumps of Day Three. South Africa quick Junior Dala ran through the line-up, finishing with a 5-wicket haul. The two teams will play another unofficial Test starting August 22 at Groenkloof Stadium.

South Africa A had a solid start to the match. Stephen Cook s 120 and David Miller s 78 in the first innings guided the side to a first-innings total of 346. Though Mohammed Siraj and Shahbaz Nadeem bagged 4-wicket-hauls, the other bowlers remained unsuccessful. It was a challenging target for the visitors, and they collapsed miserably in front of South Africa s skilful pace bowling. India were bundled for a paltry 120 on Day Two, with Shreyas Iyer s 31 being the highest score by any batsman in the innings. Dane Piedt and Beuran Hendricks were the pick of the bowlers with 3-fors each. South Africa batted again that day to put up 66 without any loss. India failed to imitate what the South Africa bowlers had done, and with a lead of 446 runs, they declared their innings for 220 for 5. Navdeep Saini was the most successful bowler for India with a 3-for. India batted again just to collapse. They started losing wickets at regular intervals, failing to build any big partnership.

Ankit Bawne showed some defence, spending some time at the crease. However, he was removed for 46 off the last delivery of Day Three, as India stuttered to 192 for 6 at stumps. Day Four belonged entirely to Junior Dala as he cleaned up the Indian tail soon, finishing with a 5-for in the innings. Stephen Cook was adjudged the Player of the Match.
