India A are in New Zealand for three four-day games at Mt Maunganui, Seddon Park and Cobham Oval and three 50-over fixtures, all at Bay Oval. The tour gets underway on November 16 with the first unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A.

A few of India’s Test players feature in the squad  for the first unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A, which is led by Ajinkya Rahane. The recalled pair of Murali Vijay and Parthiv Patel feature in this match, as do Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari who made his Test debut in England. These five players will fly to Australia to link up with the Test squad in Adelaide.

It was earlier announced that Rohit Sharma would play the first four-day match too, but he was subsequently withdrawn and will now travel with India’s T20I squad on Friday.

Mayank Agarwal, who was dropped from India’s Test squad, has been named in the four-day A squad. Shahbaz Nadeem and K Gowtham are the spinners, with Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar and Rajneesh Gurbani forming the pace quotient. Andhra wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat and Tamil Nadu allrounder Vijay Shankar have also been included.

The first four-day match between New Zealand A and India A gets underway on November 16 at Bay Oval at Mount Maunganui followed by the second at Hamilton’s Seddon Park from November 23. The third four-day game is scheduled from November 30 at Cobham Oval in Whangarei.

The series then shifts to the one-day format, with Bay Oval hosting three games on December 7, 9 and 11.
