Sanjay Bangar, the India A coach, was very pleased with his side’s convincing triumph against Sri Lanka in the tour game at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday. Sri Lanka were beaten by 88 runs by India A in their only tour game. India A racked up a huge total of  382 in their 50 overs. Sri Lanka were spirited in their reply as they made 294 for nine.

Bangar said “Lot of positives especially the way we got the partnerships for the opening, second and third wicket. The running between the wickets; the intent was there. We were playing XI and they were exercising all their options.”

The bowlers especially drew a lot of praise from him. Dhawal Kulkarni, the medium pacer, in particular adjusted to the match situation very well.

“That was an added challenge and the way bowlers responded was terrific. All of them bowled to a plan and executed them really well. Also to mention Dhawal [Kulkarni], he picked up the wicket with the new ball and even in the second powerplay, the way we gave a good account of himself; the varieties in his bowling, the slow bouncers, different angles, bowling the yorkers, he executed it really well,” Bangar pointed out.
